(and how we make winter glamping easy for you and the WHOLE family!)
If you LOVE camping, then winter glamping, especially over Christmas, has to be on your bucket list!
EVEN IF it snows, your cosy glamping bell tent is waiting for you.
If you are lucky enough to stay when it snows, I can promise you that your winter glamping experience will be another level of magical!
The thermal liners in our bell tents are designed to keep you toastie in the coldest of British winters. Plus, we provide heaters, making winter glamping enjoyable and warm.
Over the past few months we’ve:
Right now, I want to talk about staying warm. Because when we get a cold snap, I suddenly get calls asking two things:
Firstly, “Will my booking be cancelled because of the cold weather” and “are you sure we are going to be warm enough?”
My answer, “YES! Glamping bell tent bookings are year-round, thermal lined and heated, we really do make it a gorgeous, comfortable stay for you!”
Here are 26 winter glamping tips to keep you warm inside and out of your bell tent or pod!
Layer up! Wear thermal base layers under your clothes.
Wear wool socks to keep your feet toastie.
Bring a hot water bottle, perfect for sitting outside and staying warm!
Wear a beanie to keep heat from escaping through your head (10% of body heat escapes through our noggin). Especially cosy at night or handy if you choose to switch your heater off!
Bring a thick, insulated blanket(s) for extra cosiness.
Cosy-up in fleece pyjamas for maximum warmth at night.
Use hand warmers inside gloves or pockets.
Wear insulated slippers inside - warm feet!
Pack ankle-high welly boots for easy on and off when walking to and from the toilets and showers.
Place rugs on the floor to reduce heat loss in your tent or pod.
Drink hot drinks, a good cuppa or hot chocolate warms you up from the inside.
Close vents and doors - to keep out drafts.
Wear fingerless gloves or touchscreen-compatible gloves so you can stay warm while doing tasks!
Layer your socks and bring welly socks too.
Sleep with a partner or pets (if you LOVE to sleep very warm)
Use insulated water bottles and insulated mugs to keep your drinks hot longer.
Wear a scarf or snood to trap heat around your neck.
Keep your shoes dry and store them inside!
Dry wet or damp clothes near a heat source before wearing them again.
Eat warm, hearty meals - I feel happier and warmer just thinking about stews!
Avoid alcohol before bed; it can make you feel colder later.
Light a campfire but maintain a safe distance.
Use thermal insoles in your wellies and shoes.
Keep your headlamp and torch to hand, as evenings get darker, quicker (don’t leave them outside in the cold, or you’ll cripple their battery life).
Stay active outside.
Embrace the hot tub! Soak before bed to relax and warm up.
✨ Remember✨ Your pod or bell tent will be insulated and heated, your beds are “normal”, elevated off the floor and away from the sides of the canvas (added warmth), the hot tub outside is ready to jump in, and you can light a campfire (raised off the ground) if you wish!
A gorgeous way to spend an evening is around a winter fire, wrapped up cosy under blankets with a hot water bottle on your lap, enjoying a hot drink, followed by a dip in the hot tub!
Perfection, wouldn’t you agree?
